Baku Stock’s turnover on US dollar spot transactions in BEST system still makes $83.537 million for 2010
On 25-29 January, turnover of Bourse E-system of trades (BEST) of the Bank Interbank Currency Exchange (BBVB) totaled $23.878 million on spot operations in US dollars versus the 2009 best indicator on 18-22 January ($34.499 million) and the best week’s indicator in 2009 (16-19 March - $276.588 million), BBVB reported.
As a result, BEST turnover on spot-deals for January 2010 made $83.537 million versus $168.327 million in December, $711.456 million in March (a monthly turnover record for the exchange’s whole history), $439.087 million in June 2008 (best turnover for BEST entire history), the 2007 record of $310.3 million in July, BBVB entire history turnover record of $434.432 million in December 2006, the 2005 record of $108.781 million in September, the 2004 record of $97.59 million in March, the 2003 record of $100.428 million in December.
The 2010 spot transaction turnover on US dollar still makes $83.537 million versus $2.009 bn in 2009, $2.46 bn in 2008 (record for 15 years of activity of the exchange), $1.75 bn in 2007, $1.9 bn in 2006, the 2005 turnover of $813.284 million, the 2004 turnover record of $910.97 million and the 2003 turnover of $438.9 million.
No SWAP-deals have been concluded this year yet, but in 2009 their turnover totaled $260.4 million and the best indicator for month was registered in April ($67.4 million).
During the first workweek of 2010 only deals with valuation of currencies on the same day were concluded in BEST(T+0): on 25 January trading turnover totaled $3.467 million (rate: AZN 0.8032 to the US dollar); on 26 January $710,000 (rate: AZN 0.8032 to the US dollar), on 27 January $3.26 million (rate: AZN 0.8035 to the US dollar), on 28 January $16.4 million (rate: AZN 0.8026 to the US dollar), and on 29 January $28,000 (rate: AZN 0.8035 to the US dollar).
On 5 June 2008, turnover ($143.749 million) became the best for entire history of BEST and turnover of exchange per trading day. But on 13 March spot-transaction turnover ($134.353 million) and swap deals ($24 million) made $158.353 million – absolutely new record.
The best turnover per week was registered on 2-6 June 2008 - $282.974 million. The best turnover per day in 2009 was registered on 17 March - $121.799 million.
The average size of deal with valuation of currencies on the same day made $577,833 on 25 January, $355,000 on 26 January, $1.6 million on 27 January, $2.3 million on 28 January, and $28,000 on 29 January.
